Tomáš Lintner featured on Czech national TV discussing the ai:dolescence research

SΛTIS member Tomáš Lintner appeared on Czech Television to present findings from the ai:dolescence research collection. His study shows that three-quarters of Czech high school students use AI tools daily, roughly half in ways that break school rules, and a smaller share even to create deepfake content targeting classmates.

New publication: Generative AI use and academic achievement in Czech seventh-graders

SΛTIS members Tomáš Lintner and Markéta Žáková, together with colleagues from the MEDIS:ON project, have published a new article in Education and Information Technologies. Based on data from 2,307 Czech seventh-graders, the study finds that relying on GenAI instead of building understanding is negatively linked to achievement — while frequency of GenAI use itself shows no positive effect.

Research Visitor from Complexity Science Hub Vienna

From March 9–20, the SATIS Lab hosted Mauritz Cartier van Dissel, a PhD candidate at the Complexity Science Hub in Vienna. Mauritz worked with Tomáš Lintner on a joint paper on large-scale social network analysis. The visit also included a shared dinner and a walk through Brno with CSH colleague Giacomo Zelbi.

New publication: Emotional-state homophily in Czech classroom networks

SΛTIS member Tomáš Lintner, together with Rudolf Kubík and Michal Hužva, has published a new study on emotional-state homophily in Czech classrooms. Drawing on data from 9,176 K–12 students, the authors show that students tend to form ties with peers sharing similar levels of happiness, loneliness, and stress — with age shaping these patterns in different ways.
